This painting of the cardinal Scipione Borghese is a study of a Bernini sculpture located at the Villa Borghese. Borghese's vast wealth allowed him to commission and collect some of the most significant art created during the Renaissance. He was the pinnacle of the ongoing Symbiotic relationship between art and religion at the time. He allowed many artists to flourish, and so much incredible art was made from his generosity.
