Original Oil Paintings

Oil painting to me is art in its purest form. It is the origin of my artistic world. There’s something about the legacy of it. It’s my contribution and torch bearing of a craft that is over 600 years old, that keeps me practicing and chasing the greats year after year, hoping one day to make something that honors them. These works vary from portraits, studies painted from life, genre paintings of everyday life, to landscapes during my annual trips to Italy. Each piece starts with observation, and my hope is that the finished painting holds some of that original attention. A gesture, a quality of light, a quiet moment worth sitting with. Every painting here is an original, one-of-a-kind work.
