This unique piece is the only painting in this show that is not Italian. It is from London. London has always been an important stop on my travels to Italy. Like my relationship with Rome, it has grown to become an important pilgrimage on my artistic journey. This clock tower is within walking distance from a friend's flat, where I stay during visits. I loved its humble existence with the locals playing soccer, jogging by, or laying on a blanket just out of reach of its shadow. It exists as more of a neighbor and less as a landmark. Very on-brand for English weather, I was caught in a downpour of rain just as I finished this painting.
